A “Barrier-Free Tourism” program to be implemented for persons with disabilities

“Barrier-Free Tourism”

Starting from January 1, 2024, the program “Barrier-Free Tourism” aimed at creating a comfortable environment for people with disabilities to travel will be implemented.

This is provided for in the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to accelerate reforms in tourism further and effectively organize the state governing system in the sphere”.

“Barrier-free tourism” program will be implemented for persons with disabilities

As part of the program, every year within the framework of the “Travel for Everyone!” project, free trips to the cities of the country with high tourism potential will be organized for 1,000 persons with disabilities in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions, and the city of Tashkent.

Also, the necessary infrastructure mechanisms will be introduced for the unhindered movement of persons with disabilities at tourism, cultural heritage, concert-spectacle facilities, airports, bus, and railway stations.
