Today, as in all other places, the population of Fergana region makes a worthy contribution to Uzbekistan’s economic and social development by selflessly working in industry, small business and private entrepreneurship, agriculture, construction, and service. New projects are being launched in the beautiful Fergana, the valley jewel, and people’s lifestyles are improving.
In particular, the newly opened airport in Kokand will contribute to tourism development while bringing people’s distance closer.
During his visit to the region, the Head of state visited Indorama Kokand Fertilizers and Chemicals, a joint stock company established based on the former Kokand Superphosphate Plant. $70 million of foreign investment was attracted, and production was modernized here. An additional 150 jobs were created. The company can export products worth $30 million per year. During the visit, the following stages of the enterprise and the increase in the number of jobs created were discussed.
The volume of investments in Fergana region in the next seven years is 77 trillion UZS. As a result, 116,000 jobs and $4.5 billion worth of exports were created.
122 enterprises with a turnover of more than $10 million have appeared, and Fergana enterprises have entered 60 new markets. More than a thousand projects worth $1.3 billion are being implemented in our region this year. Foreign investors and local entrepreneurs have developed 132 projects with a total value of more than $7 billion in Fergana region. As a result of implementing these projects, more than 23,000 people will be employed. These projects cover textile, food, medicine, electrical engineering, building materials, service, and other sectors.
The included investment projects correspond to countries such as Austria, the United States, China, Russia, Türkiye, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Japan, and Azerbaijan.
In previous years, every thousand dollars of foreign investment in the region increased tax revenues by an average of $207.
During President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the region, activists from 19 district cities met. Based on China’s experience, it was decided to specialize in a specific industry direction and organize industrial zones.
$50 million will be allocated for infrastructure costs to bring the industry to the district and mahalla.
In Fergana, projects that will give the industry a big impetus will be multiplied. In particular, $2 billion worth of projects are planned in energy, oil and gas, and chemistry.
The construction of 500-megawatt photoelectric plants in Beshariq district of the region and 180 megawatts in Uzbekistan district has been started. Suppose the enterprise for producing electric car charging stations is put into operation in the city of Quvasoy this year. In that case, the project to produce 17 thousand tons of biodegradable non-woven fabric per year will be accelerated in Rishtan. These modern stations ensure energy security, increase economic efficiency and improve environmental stability.
In a word, today, the changes in the Fergana region are very big. In particular, the amount of work being carried out on the development of industry and construction is extremely wide. The Head of state’s visit to the Fergana region will start a new era in the region’s growth.
