We are not bad taxpayers!
We are not bad taxpayers!

These days, the allegations that the Uzbekistan people are bad taxpayers and try to avoid paying taxes as much as possible are being discussed, and legitimate objections are being raised.

First, it’s important to note that painting the entire nation with the same brush in such a derogatory manner is unethical and unjust.

Second, there are tax evaders in various ways. They are being fought hard, and the tax system is being automated, but not all Uzbekistan people are bad taxpayers!

It should not be forgotten that the country’s budget is formed through various payments made by citizens. The main sources are taxes, customs duties and other fees.

What is the share of citizens in the budget?

– Income tax: tax paid on wages and other income.

– Value-added tax (VAT): tax paid on the purchase of goods and services.

– Property tax: tax paid for owning real estate.

– Excise tax: tax paid on alcohol, tobacco products, and other excise goods.

– Social payments: payments for pensions and other social services.

Also, value-added tax is included in the price of food products, which the consumer pays when he buys the product.

These taxes collectively fill the state budget, and funds are allocated from the budget for social, economic, and administrative projects. Therefore, regardless of employment status, every Uzbekistan citizen is an active taxpayer and shares the responsibility of contributing to the state’s welfare as a member of civil society.
