On July 27, Tashkent hosted a plenary session of the Central Council of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan. The participants discussed issues related to the party’s participation in the elections following the Central Election Commission’s announcement of the beginning of the election campaign for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and the regional, district, and city Councils of People’s Deputies.
At the plenary session, it was noted that in accordance with the renewed Constitution and the Election Code, the election to be held for the first time based on the mixed electoral system in the country will serve the People’s Democratic Party to put forward new proposals and initiatives on current socio-economic, political, and legal issues in society, improve party programs, know the people's will, and win more parliamentary seats.
Based on these, a unanimous decision was made at the plenary session on the participation of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan in the election. According to it, an application will be submitted to the Central Election Commission regarding the party’s participation in the election campaign to the lower house of the parliament and the Council of People’s Deputies this year in accordance with the Election Code.
At the plenum, a decision was made to establish the Central Election Headquarters of the party to responsibly organize all organizational and legal work during the election campaign. The tasks and powers of the headquarters were defined.
Tasks were defined for effectively establishing and operating the election headquarters of the regional, district, and city party councils.
It was noted that the People’s Democratic Party will prepare intensively and systematically for the elections. Meetings will be held with party leaders, activists, and many thousands of well-wishers in all regions of the country. The past years’ activities will be critically analyzed, and new proposals will be received.
The calendar plan of the main events was approved to ensure the People’s Democratic Party’s active and appropriate participation in the campaign.
The Chairman of the Central Council of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Ulugbek Inoyatov, made a special statement about the issues discussed in the plenary session and the decisions made.
The statement announced, among other things, that the People’s Democratic Party, which has gained significant experience by participating in all the elections in the country, is committed to achieving high results in the election campaign.
