The free movement of people worldwide, as well as education and work, is one of the essential foundations of globalization.
According to the latest data from the International Organization for Migration, the global population of migrants has surpassed 281 million. This figure, which stood at 174 million in 2000, underscores the significant and growing trend in migration that is shaping our world.
Experts see migration as a powerful factor driving economic development and strengthening friendship and cooperation between nations. According to statistics, international remittances made by migrants increased from 128 billion dollars in 2000 to 831 billion dollars by 2024. Migration is one of the important factors driving not only economic development but also spiritual and cultural development worldwide.
In short, migration has become a vital issue worldwide. In the society of New Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to ensuring the right to study and work and expanding opportunities. The Agency for Foreign Labor Migration has sent 70,000 citizens to work in developed countries in the last two years. 24-hour call centers are being established in embassies and relevant ministries to resolve the issues of citizens abroad quickly.
However, in some countries, the rights and interests of labor migrants are overlooked, and various restrictions are introduced against them. Sometimes, there are cases of attempts to use migrants as handles to interfere in the internal affairs of states. Our party believes that it is essential for migration to be legal and safe.
Our country has a broad intellectual potential and enormous labor resources. Uzbekistan opened to the world. This created great opportunities for studying and working for different population strata. In today’s active globalization process, creating conditions for legal migration and protecting every fellow citizen’s rights is necessary. We know a consistent policy should be followed, especially when some countries take a restrictive position on this issue.
Therefore, in our election program, we set the goal of increasing transparency in the activities of the Foreign Labor Migration Agency, increasing the agency’s responsibility to support our compatriots working abroad.
Our party supports the reliable protection of the rights and interests of migrants, and the state guarantees constant support abroad.
