Today, the leaders of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan met with representatives of the primary electorate at the Shakhrisabz branch of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology (Kashkadarya region) in connection with the election campaign. Employees of the budgetary sphere and the service sector, journalists and bloggers, as well as representatives of the general public, attended the meeting.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the features of the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils, which will be held on October 27 this year, which differ from the previous elections, the electoral platform of the People’s Democratic Party, including presenting the election programs of the candidates nominated by the party.
The participants discussed the issues of maintaining state control over strategically essential companies, prohibiting their privatization at the legal level, and all revenues arising from the provision of public services by ministries and agencies or the imposition of fines should be sent to the state budget in full; improving conditions for the self-employed and labor migrants, including expanding the list of activities that can be carried out as self-employed, focusing on organized and orderly migration.
The Republic of Uzbekistan is a ‘social state’ in the renewed Constitution. The measures planned in this direction are, in many ways, fully compatible with the program, goals, and objectives of the People’s Democratic Party. In particular, it is essential to protect the interests of low-income citizens, citizens with disabilities, and lonely older people left without a guardian and strengthen social protection issues that correspond to and harmonize with the ideas put forward by the party.
The party strives to create decent living conditions for everyone based on the principles of social equality and justice, reduce social differences, help those in need, reduce poverty, and provide the population with new jobs and a guaranteed income source, promoting its ideas.
The party promotes the ideas of active participation of the state in the economy, equal distribution of social benefits, and ensuring the priority of common property in production. In its ideas on public administration, it supports the introduction of an open, transparent, popular, and democratic system of public administration based on social equality and the people.
The party proposes ideas to ensure the acceptability of judicial mechanisms for protecting citizens’ rights based on further strengthening the rule of law and strict observance of equality of rights, duties, and opportunities.
At the meeting, detailed information was given on the content of the upcoming new elections and their role in citizens’ lives. Also, representatives of the electorate listened and received answers to their questions based on their interests.
