PDPU hosts a meeting in Andijan region

There is little time left for the elections to the parliament and local councils. On October 18, the People’s Democratic Party hosted a meeting with pensioners and intellectuals at the Institute of Economy and Construction in the center of Andijan region to explain the essence of the election program.

In addition to pensioners and intellectuals, public activists, active young people and women, representatives of the social sphere, and media workers participated in the event.

The leaders of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan delivered a speech and explained the main directions of the program and the relevance of the proposals reflected in it. In particular, promoting the active participation of older people in all sectors by promoting a strategy for healthy aging, increasing the tax burden on groups of products harmful to health and thereby increasing the intensity of support for the health sector, adopting a national strategy for ensuring the safety of children on the Internet, the basics of cyber security, among others, there are initiatives dedicated to the introduction of training programs on online fraud, detection of online threats and protection against them.

It was noted that the People’s Democratic Party aims to ensure that pensions and social allowances for all citizens are sufficient to satisfy human needs fully.

In addition, the program clearly defines the continuation of the policy of keeping the pension age unchanged. Therefore, when the retirement age increases even in the most developed countries, the policy being implemented in Uzbekistan is commendable. The People’s Democratic Party, which has deeply realized this, aims to continue it without deviating from this policy.

Given that the majority of the participants were pensioners and intellectuals, it was evident that the proposals were well received, leaving them in a positive and hopeful mood.

In a word, the voters liked initiatives aimed at the social protection of the population, preserving the active role of the state in the economy, ensuring the rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities, regulating communal services, and proposing reforms in healthcare and education.

At the meeting, the activists urged the audience to play an active role in the significant political process that will shape the country’s future – the election. They called for support for the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and its candidates, emphasizing the voters’ power to influence the outcome.

Following the meeting, the voters addressed their questions to the officials and received detailed answers.
