A roundtable discussion on “Current issues of participation of political parties in the elections to representative state governing bodies” took place at Yuksalish National Movement with participation of experts and representatives of political parties.

At the roundtable discussion, the parties briefly informed about their Pre-election programs, as well as important initiatives forwarded in them.

So, what do political parties pay special attention to when selecting candidates for deputies?

Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Vafoyev answered this question:

– Our party, when choosing candidates for deputies, proceeds from 15 main criteria. We have formed a reserve consisting of 3 candidates for each seat in the district councils and 5 candidates for each seat in the regional councils of people's deputies, as well as 10 candidates for each seat in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. This year, women make up 45 percent of our candidates. 70 percent of the candidates are citizens between the ages of 30 and 50. Most importantly, all our candidates understand the essence and significance of the ideas of our party, are capable of campaigning.
