The role and significance of the Constitution in our life

 

Today, an online workshop was held for the employees of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan on “The content and essence of the renewed Constitution”.

It was attended by deputies, employees of the Central and regional party councils, and the media.

Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Ulugbek Vafayev, addressed the meeting and spoke about the essence and relevance of the renewed Constitution.

Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Dilbar Mamadjanova told the participants about the history of the Constitution, its state structure, the system of authorities and governing bodies, their authority and the procedure for their formation, the electoral system, the rights and freedoms of citizens, the mutual relations between society and the individual, as well as about the judicial system and how it determines the relationship between the state and society.

In addition, the deputy listed 9 legal steps to prepare, discuss, adopt, and implement the first Constitution of Sovereign Uzbekistan as the most important historical event.

After all, the history of the creation of the Constitution is an integral part of the struggle for independence.

Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Firdavs Sharipov informed the participants about the development process, content, and changes in the renewed Constitution.

In particular, it was noted that the number of articles in the renewed Constitution has increased from 128 to 155, the norms in it have increased from 275 to 434, and the constitution has been updated by 65%.

Article 1 of the Constitution states, “Uzbekistan is a sovereign democratic, legal, social and secular state with a republican form of government”. It was mentioned that the designation of Uzbekistan as a social state fully corresponds to the priority ideas and goals of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan.

Following the workshop, the participants answered questions about the Constitution, and it was emphasized that the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and its deputy associations at all levels and party organizations should be active in widely promoting the role and importance of the fundamental law in our lives.
