A historic step was taken to drastically reduce the number of low-income families in New Uzbekistan. It is not a secret that implementing the norms established in the renewed Constitution is being intensively continued.
Now, at least one member of families needing social assistance will have a higher education. This, in turn, is a crucial way to get out of poverty.
Reducing poverty and helping families in need of social assistance out of difficult situations are among the main tasks of establishing a new Uzbekistan, and specific activities are being carried out to achieve this goal.
Special attention was paid to this issue at yesterday’s meeting, which was chaired by the President of Uzbekistan to discuss how to bring poverty reduction to the following qualitative level. The President announced that conditions would be created for every low-income family, especially women, to have at least one person with a higher education.
It is good news that students of universities, colleges, and technical institutes with a learning rate of at least 80 percent will be given an interest-free education loan for the next academic year.
In addition, it was noted that financially independent higher education institutions would receive a grant of at least 1 billion UZS per year. From these grants, 20% to 80% of the contract of the children of low-income families will be covered based on their mastery of subjects.
Science, knowledge, and craft can save a person from difficult situations. This is not only economic, but also educational for the nation. Financial support for our young people who strive for science will allow them to become competitive personnel in the future. At the same time, strong personnel in the labor market serve as an essential factor in educating young people who believe in tomorrow and strive for the future.
These efforts fully correspond to the ideas of social justice, social equality, and the creation of equal opportunities for all, among the main goals of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan.
The National Agency for Social Protection is tasked with organizing the quality education of children of low-income families in kindergartens, schools, technical colleges, and universities and coordinating the issues of providing them with all-around support. This will be a bold step for the main reformer – the state in the direction of the welfare of the people.
I would like to ask our young people, who strive for a bright future, to take full advantage of these opportunities.
