Meetings with international observers

 

On October 2 this year, at the headquarters of the Central Council of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of the party Ulugbek Vafoyev, and the officials of the election headquarters of the party met with the Deputy Secretary General of the CIS D. Trefilov, the Head of the Mission Staff of the Executive Committee of the CIS Y.V. Kozyak.

At the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Council, Ulugbek Vafoyev, gave information to the foreign observers about the work carried out by the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan for proper participation in the upcoming elections, including the new pre-election program and the process of forming candidates for deputy. He also touched on the involvement of the party and candidates in the election campaigns, which are currently in full swing.

The guests were interested in the features of the elections held for the first time this year under the mixed electoral system, including the changes in the party’s activities related to their participation. In turn, the delegation representatives touched on the procedure of monitoring the elections and addressed their questions.

The meeting took place in a cordial, friendly, and upbeat spirit.

A similar dialogue was held on September 27 this year with S. Karavayev, Advisor to the Secretary General of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS, and S. Tkachenko, an expert of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations.
